Perham girls earn third consecutive team title

The Perham girls earned their third consecutive Class A team title with 103 points. Luverne was second with 138 points and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted was third at 154. This was the fourth overall championship for the Yellowjackets. They captured their first title in 2015.

Morgan Gehl of Murray County Central claimed her first individual crown with a time of 17:53.5. The win was an improvement for Gehl, who placed third in 2018. Jade Rypkema of Nevis finished in the runner-up spot and Tenley Nelson of Luverne placed third.

In Class AA, the Edina girls improved on their 2018 third-place finish to win their third title. They won previously in 2015 and 2016 and finished with 55 points this year. Wayzata earned runner-up honors for a second consecutive year (109) and the defending champions from St. Michael-Albertville were third (115).

Analee Weaver of Stillwater Area took top honors in the individual race with a time of 17:46.1. She placed eighth in 2018. Abbey Nechanicky of Wayzata and Anna Fenske of Farmington finished second and third, respectively.
