Celebrating Officials
The Minnesota State High School League and its more than 500 member schools thank and appreciate the contest officials selected to work the Winter 2023 State Tournament events.
Officials Distinguished Service Awards
The Minnesota State High School League will recognize eight individuals with Officials Distinguished Service Awards during the Boys Basketball State Tournament on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Bill Webb, National High School Hall of Fame inductee, Class of 2023
Bill Webb, a longtime revered band director in the Edina School District who introduced thousands of students to the wonderful world of music, has been selected for induction into the National High School Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023. He will be enshrined during the NFHS Summer Meeting Conference on Saturday, July 1 in Seattle.

Dave Stead, the longest-serving executive director of the Minnesota State High School League, was selected for induction into the Class of 2023 of the National High School Hall of Fame.
Triple "A" Award Winners
The 2023 Triple ‘A’ Award state scholarship recipients are Avery Anderson, Orono; Isaac Kreft, West Central Area; Maci Lake, Sebeka; and Ava Lowman, Cambridge-Isanti.
Girls Class A Herb Brooks
Mankato East senior goalie Annaliese Rader was selected as the recipient of the Class A Herb Brooks Award.

Centennial/Spring Lake Park senior forward Lauren O’Hara was selected as the recipient of the Class AA Herb Brooks Award.
Boys Class A Herb Brooks Award Winner
Mahtomedi senior forward David Wolsfeld was selected as the recipient of the Class A Herb Brooks Award.

Hill-Murray senior goalie Jack Erickson was selected as the recipient of the Class AA Herb Brooks Award.
Media Award: Print Division
Ryan Bergeron is an award-winning sports journalist that covers Greenbush-Middle River High School for Page 1 Publications. He is the League's recipient of the Outstanding Media Service Award in the Print Division.
Media Award: Electronic Division
Barry Wortel of KTOE Radio in Mankato calls about 75 high school games during the school year for listeners in the Minnesota River Valley. He is the recipient of the League's Outstanding Media Service Award in the Electronic Division
Showcase: Ed Homan
Ed Homan officiated wrestling for 43 years, then spent seven years as an officiating observer for the MSHSL.
