“Thank a Ref” Campaign

All Schools are asked to assist as we work to recruit and retain officials! 

Officiating is a great way to give back to the sports and communities that have given our students so much.

By accentuating the positive and thanking and praising the officials, current officials are shown appreciation and others are encouraged to give officiating a try. 

Your school can participate by:

  1. Designating one home event for every sport in which officials are hired as a special recognition for the officials.
  2. Use the sample press release to spread the word in your community and to Thank Officials.
  3. Use the sample PA Announcement.
  4. Use the suggestions provided to extend special thanks and special appreciation for the officials working that contest.
  5. Involve team members and coaches in thanking officials and providing positive feedback.
  6. Encourage great sportsmanship and educate fans on the value that officials provide.
  7. Finding at least one way in which you can better host the officials working your contests.
