2023 Adapted Soccer Advance Release

Fifteen teams will take over Stillwater Area High School this weekend for the Minnesota State High School League’s Adapted Soccer State Tournament. Champions will be crowned in two divisions. Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville (CI) is looking for its third consecutive title while Dakota United (PI) is competing for its second. Here is a look at the tournament:

- No. 1N St. Cloud Area (9-0-0) vs. No. 4S St. Paul Johnson (3-3-1), 6:30 p.m.
- No. 2S Dakota United (6-2-0) vs. No. 3N South Washington County (3-5-0), 6:30 p.m.
- No. 2N Park Center (8-1-0) vs. No. 3S Stillwater/Mahtomedi (5-2-1), 8 p.m.
- No. 1S Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville (8-0-0) vs. No. 4N South Suburban (4-4-0), 8 p.m.
PI Division
- No. 1 Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka (7-0-0) vs. BYE
- No. 5 St. Paul Humboldt (2-4-0) vs. No. 4 Rochester (2-3-0), 5 p.m.
- No. 2 Minneapolis South (5-1-0) vs. No. 7 Anoka-Hennepin (0-7-0), 5 p.m.
- No. 3 Dakota United (3-2-0) vs. No. 6 Park Center (2-4-0), 5 p.m.
CI Highlights
- St. Cloud Area is the top seed coming out of the North section. The Crush finished in fourth place in 2022 and are looking for their first title since 2018. St. Paul Johnson earned consolation honors last year. Dakota United has finished as the runner-up the past two years. The Hawks defeated South Washington County 6-1 during the regular season. The South Washington County Thunderbolts did not qualify for the 2022 tournament. Park Center, which placed sixth last year, is in the hunt for its sixth title. The Pirates last won in 2017. The Stillwater/Mahtomedi Ponies finished in third place last season. The two-time defending champions from Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville return in search of more gold. South Suburban returns to tournament action after a one-year hiatus. The Blazing Cats defeated the Jets 11-1 in mid-October.
PI Highlights
- Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka is looking to improve on last year’s runner-up showing. The Robins defeated the defending champions from Dakota United 10-1 during the regular season. St. Paul Humboldt placed sixth in 2022 and is looking for its first title since 2018. Rochester finished in fourth place last year and is still looking for its first PI title. The Raiders posted a 6-1 victory over Humboldt in late October. Minneapolis South and Anoka-Hennepin met during the regular season with South winning 18-1. The South Tigers finished in third place last year and Anoka-Hennepin emerged as the consolation winner. Dakota United returns to defend its 2022 title. The Hawks defeated Park Center 4-2 this year. Park Center fell in the consolation semifinals last year.
