2023 Track and Field State Class AAA Day 2

Minnetonka took the Class AAA Team Girls Track and Field title with 101 points. Wayzata scored 88 to claim second place and Blaine’s 44 points earned them third place. In the Boys Team competition, Rosemount was this year’s Team Champion with 69 points, Minnetonka came in second with 56, and Lakeville North scored 48 points.
Highlights from the meet held at St. Michael-Albertville High School Include:
Girls:
- Senior Jordyn Borsch of Maple Grove won three races today. Borsch was a repeat winner in the 100-meter dash; she won the same event in 2022. Her time was 11.96
- Borsch also repeated as champion of the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.44. Borsch is the Minnesota All-Time record holder in this race.
- Borsch’s third championship came in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.70.
- Minnetonka junior Claire Kohler claimed championships in both of the hurdle events. in the 100-meter hurdles, she finished with a time of 14.33 and in the 300—meter hurdles, her time was 43.44.
- Wayzata senior teammates Grace Weber and Teegan Anderson finished first and second in the 800-meter run. Weber’s time of 2:10.44 was just faster than Anderson’s time of 2:10.99. Anderson also won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:51.61.
- Minnetonka’s Lucy Hiller won the triple jump with a jump of 39 feet, 6.5 inches. Hiller also ran on Minnetonka’s winning 4x100-meter relay. Also on that relay team were Lindsey Koch, Ruby Pajibo and Briena Giebel.
Boys
- In the 4X100-meter relay, Champlin Park’s time of 41.63 topped second place Minnetonka’s time of 41.71. Champlin Park also won this relay in 2022. This year’s team of Lomax Wilson, Richlu Tudee, Emmit Tutt and Alvin Thomas had Tudee and Tutt returning from last year’s team.
- Tudee also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.99. This was his second consecutive year winning the 200-meter title.
- Lakeville North’s Andrew Casey won the 800-meter race with a time of 1:54.83. Casey also ran the final leg of Lakeville North’s championship 4x400-meter relay.
- Rosemount senior Hayden Bills won the discus championship with a throw of 207 feet. This throw set a new Minnesota All Time and Class Record. Bills added this championship to his shot-put championship claimed on day one of the tournament which also set new Minnesota All Time and Class Records.
Wheelchair Division
- Ninth grader Macalister Hedtke from Wayzata placed first in the 200-meter race, second in the 100-meter race, first in the discus and second in the shotput.
