2024 Adapted Soccer State Tournament: PI Day 1 Recap

Top-seeded Minneapolis South advanced to the semifinals in the PI Division of the 2024 Adapted Soccer State Tournament. The Tigers, who placed second in 2023, will face Park Center in the first championship semifinal on Saturday morning. Rochester will play Dakota United in the second.

Senior Yonis Noor and junior Kevin Ponce paced Minneapolis South with three goals apiece in the night’s first quarterfinal. Senior Lindasue Anderson added two goals and two assists for the Tigers as they defeated South Suburban 11-0.

Park Center upset Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka 6-2 behind two goals from sophomore Ben Pfeifer in the second game of the evening. Rochester got seven goals from senior Braxton Small in the third quarterfinal and the Raiders went on to defeat Anoka-Hennepin 8-3. 

In the final quarterfinal of the evening, Dakota United defeated St. Paul Humboldt 6-0. Senior Reece Martin led the Hawks with four goals.

The PI champion will be crowned at White Bear Lake Area High School on Saturday, Nov. 16.
