Minneota looked right at home on Saturday, Nov. 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, and as they should. The Vikings, who have won the past two Class A championships on the same turf, have put themselves in line to make it a three-peat.
The Vikings rolled to a 35-point lead at the intermission en route to a 45-0 victory over Parkers Prairie in the Class A semifinals. Senior running back Ryan Meagher rushed for 133 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns in one half of play. Senior quarterback Brody Larson completed 9 of 14 passes for 122 yards and another TD as Minneota (12-0) rolled up 424 yards of total offense. On defense, Minneota was stingy in yielding just 105 yards to Parkers Prairie (9-4).
The Class A Prep Bowl Championship game will have a familiar feeling as well. About two hours earlier, Springfield advanced, too. Springfield has been the runner-up to Minneota the past two seasons.
Parkers Prairie was making its first appearance in the semifinal round.
Minneota is attempting to become the first school to win three consecutive crowns during the Prep Bowl Era since Eden Prairie won four consecutive from 2011-2014.
