Adapted Soccer PI Division Wrap Up

Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka 7, Dakota United 5
The PI Division Adapted Soccer State Tournament Championship Game featured a battle between the Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka Robins and the Dakota United Hawks. The Robins held a 4-1 lead at halftime, and were able to hang on for a 7-5 win.
The Robins had three different scorers in the win, with senior Ava Hetteen scoring the first goal of the game. Teammate Jose Leon Estrada led the Robins with four of the team’s seven goals and senior Marcus Brady recorded two goals.
For the Hawks, junior Fiona Sitzman and senior Sam Gerten were a dynamic offense duo, combining for all five goals. Sitzman finished with three goals and Gerten tallied two goals and three assists.
Both goalies were busy in net, as the Hawks’ Amisha Etter and the Robins’ Mark Cleveland each had double-digit saves during the game.
Third Place
Anoka-Hennepin 9, Rochester 0
The Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs earned the PI Division Third Place trophy after defeating the Rochester Raiders 9-0. The Mustangs started the game strong, taking a 2-0 lead three minutes in and they didn’t look back from there.
Senior Malachi Neal paced the Mustang offense, scoring four goals and adding two assists to finish with six points in the game. Teammate Garmen Neal also had four goals to help offensively and junior Joey Tonna tallied the final goal.
In net for the Raiders, senior Stuart Batterson had a strong game, compiling 10 saves throughout the contest.
