The lead was 23 with 12:20 to go and a spot in the Class A semifinals looked just about official for Red Lake County.

Five minutes later, it was gone.

A furious, Roschen-spurred 25-2 run from Goodhue turned a laugher into a classic in the last quarterfinal game of the 2025 Boys Basketball State Tournament at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis on Thursday.

The Rebels could have been rattled in their first state tournament appearance. Instead, reserve Ben Gullingsrud confidently drained a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 5:05 left and Red Lake County eventually wrapped up a 68-61 victory.

Luke Peterson and Connor Duden both scored 14 points for the Rebels (30-2). Owen Chervestad had 13 and eight assists, Will Gieseke 13 and eight rebounds.

Goodhue (22-9) made four 3-pointers during its comeback, with Owen, Luke and Michael Roschen combining for 23 points. Owen Roschen nearly extended the game further, but his 3-pointer rimmed out with the Wildcats trailing by three in the final minute.

Michael Roschen finished with a game-high 16 points. Alex Loos totaled 15 points and 11 boards.
