Breck, the No. 5 seed to begin the Class A Girls Soccer State Tournament, recorded its second consecutive upset with a 4-1 victory over No. 1 Holy Family Catholic in the semifinals of the Girls Soccer State Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Mustangs, who upended No. 4 St. Anthony Village in the quarterfinals, scored three goals in the first half to make its first trip to the state tournament even more memorable with a berth in the state championship game against either Minnehaha Academy or Cotter. Junior midfielder Georgia LeWin-Mills had two goals for Breck (10-4-4), which has won four in a row since ending the regular season 0-2-1.

LeWin-Mills opened the scoring in the second minute, who scored from the edge of the penalty area into the opposite corner. But just 90 seconds later, Holy Family (14-3-2) tied the score on a 30-yard shot by senior defender Mimi Pavelka.

It was a short-lived deadlock. One minute later, senior forward Dylan Baker maneuvered around Breck junior goalkeeper Olivia Paidosh to restore the Mustangs’ lead for good. LeWins-Mmills added her second goal in the 19th minute on a curled corner kick, and then in the 66th minute, freshman midfielder JoJo Weissman set the score scored from the post.
