Class AA Boys Hockey State Consolation Semifinal Edina 4, Cretin-Derham Hall 3

Edina put itself in an opportunity to end the season with a victory by posting a 4-3 win over Cretin-Derham Hall in the Class AA consolation semifinals of the Minnesota State High School League’s Boys Hockey State Tournament at 3M Arena at Mariucci. Senior forward Willy Johnson scored two goals and senior forward AJ Doll chipped in two assists to send the Hornets (21-9-0) into the consolation final on Saturday against Moorhead.
Johnson scored both of his goals in the first period. But the Raiders (24-5-0) climbed into a 2-all deadlock behind second period goals from senior Jake Sondreal and junior forward Devin Cardenas. Both goals had assists from junior forward Attilla Lippai.
