Number five seed Gentry Academy Stars (22-6-0) defeated number four seed Maple Grove Crimson (20-6-2) 2-1 in an even matchup on Thursday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to advance into the Class AA semifinals of the Girls State Hockey Tournament.

On Thursday evening the first seed Andover Huskies (27-0-0) defeated the Brainerd Warriors (17-11-0) 5-0 in a physical game at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to advance to the Class AA Semifinals of the Girls Hockey State Tournament.

The No. 3-seeded Minnetonka Skippers (22-6-0) defeated the Burnsville Blaze (22-5-1) 9-0 in the second game of the Class AA girls hockey quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.

River Lakes, a co-op of seven member schools from central Minnesota, used two goals in the first period to post a 4-2 victory over Luverne in the Class A consolation semifinals on Thursday, Feb. 24 at TRIA Rink at Treasure Island Center in downtown St. Paul.

In the first round of the Class AA Minnesota State High School League Girls State Hockey Tournament, the No. 2-seeded Edina Hornets (26-2) punched their ticket to the semifinals after defeating the Northfield Raiders (19-6-3) 7-0 on Thursday afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center.
