Top-seeded Mayer Lutheran recorded a three-set victory over No. 2 Minneota to capture the Class A Girls Volleyball State Championship on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Xcel Energy Center.

Day 2 of the Minnesota State High School League's Football State Tournament quarterfinals was played on Friday, Nov. 8 at many sites throughout Greater Minnesota.

Championship Saturday is set following the completion of semifinal matches in three enrollment matches on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Minnesota State High School League's Volleyball State Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.

Mayer Lutheran came in as the top-seeded team and Minneota is the No. 2 seed. They both won in the quarterfinals by 3-0 scores and in the semifinals by 3-1, and they will decide the state title Saturday.
