Maggie Ewen, a 2013 graduate of St. Francis High School, left her mark at the high school level with two all-time records at the Minnesota State High School League’s Girls Track and Field State Meet. As a junior, she set an all-time record with a toss of 171 feet, 9 inches, in the discus throw. A year later, she tossed the 8.8-pound shot a distance of 54 feet, 8.5 inches. Both remain all-time high school records in Minnesota.

She didn’t stop leaving her mark.

At Arizona State University, Ewen had a stellar collegiate career as an indoor and outdoor national champion. She won the Hammer Throw in 2017 during the NCAA Division I Outdoor Meet and followed that with a national crown in the Shot Put during the NCAA Division I Indoor Meet in 2018. She earned All-

America honors 13 times during her collegiate career and was two-time Pac-12 Women’s Field Athlete of the Year.

Ewen, also a volleyball standout at St. Francis High School, competes professionally on the international track and field circuit. She won a gold medal in the shot put and earned a bronze medal in the discus in Toronto at the 2018 NACAC Championships.
