2024 Lacrosse State Tournament: Boys Day 2 Recap

Lakeville North will have the chance to defend its boys lacrosse title this Saturday. The No. 3 Panthers will meet top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the championship game slated for 6 p.m. at Eden Prairie High School. 

This is the second time these two teams have met this season. Benilde-St. Margaret’s won the first game 9-8 in overtime.

Championship Semifinals

Lakeville North dismissed No. 2 Stillwater Area 17-5 in the first championship semifinal. Juniors Carson Piscitiello and Blake Piscitiello paced the Panther’s offense with five goals and one assist apiece. Senior Quinn Powers added three goals and one assist. 

Senior Brock Lynskey and junior Isaac Johnston netted two goals apiece for Stillwater Area.

No. 5 Eden Prairie and Benilde-St. Margaret’s met in the day’s second semifinal, with the Red Knights winning 11-7. 

Sophomore Holton Vanderlinde led Benilde-St. Margaret’s with three goals and one assist. Senior Gus Bell tallied three additional goals for the Red Knights. 

Senior Daniel Burke struck three times for Eden Prairie and added two assists. Sophomore Brayden Palmer added two goals and one assist. 

Consolation Semifinals

In the first consolation semifinal, Minnetonka posted a narrow 10-9 victory over Moorhead. Senior Liam Cassidy led the Skippers with three goals. Senior Garret Horneck was the second-leading scorer; he finished with two goals.

Eagan senior Samuel Simon struck for five goals and an assist as the Wildcats defeated Centennial 14-10 in the second game of the day. Senior William McLoone tallied four points for Eagan on three goals and one assist.
