Adapted Floor Hockey 2025: Quarterfinal scores and summary

The 2025 Adapted Floor Hockey State Tournament began Friday night at Coon Rapids High School with eight quarterfinal games across two divisions. All 16 teams will be back Saturday for the semifinals, championships and consolation games.
Here's a recap of the quarterfinals.
CI Division quarterfinals

Mankato 11, Maple Grove 7 — No. 4 South seed Mankato (7-3) raced to a 4-0 lead and handed Maple Grove its first loss of the season. Junior Davaris Woods produced a game-high five goals as the Knights earned their first state quarterfinal victory.

Stillwater/Mahtomedi 10, Dakota United 4 — Dakota United struck first with a pair of goals, but senior Mason Mora-Clark tallied six goals and contributed a pair of assists as No. 2 South seed Stillwater/Mahtomedi (7-2) advanced to the semifinals.

New Prague/TCU/LSH/Belle Plaine/Jordan 11, South Suburban 4 — The Trojans (9-0) scored six second-period goals, three of which came from sophomore Logan Bermel, to pull away for their ninth straight win since last year's championship game. No. 1 South seed New Prague/TCU/LSH/Belle Plaine/Jordan has scored nine or more goals in every game this season.

South Washington 17, Buffalo/Monticello/STMA 4 — The high-scoring Thunderbolts (8-2) got six goals from junior Logan Curtis and five from sophomore Alex Gillespie. No. 3 South seed South Washington (8-2) captured its first win at the state tournament since claiming the 2019 championship.

Up next: Semifinals Saturday, March 8 include Mankato vs. Stillwater/Mahtomedi and New Prague/TCU/LSH/Belle Plaine/Jordan vs. South Washington, both at noon. Maple Grove faces Dakota United in a consolation semifinal at 9 a.m. and South Suburban takes on Buffalo/Monticello/STMA in another consolation semifinal at 10:30 a.m. The consolation final is at 1:45 p.m., followed by the third-place game at 3:45 p.m. and the championship game at 4 p.m.
PI Division quarterfinals

Brainerd 8, South Suburban 1 — No. 1 seed Brainerd scored five unanswered first-period goals and stayed undefeated, taking a 10-0 record to the semifinals. The Warriors are seeking their fifth state championship in the last seven tournaments.

Rochester 11, Anoka-Hennepin 1 — Senior Andrew Westerman scored five goals, including a first-period hat trick, to help No. 4 seed Rochester (7-5) reach the semifinals.

Dakota United 8, Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka 1 — Reigning champion Dakota United returned to the semifinals for the fifth consecutive state tournament with a win over the program it defeated in last year's title game. Senior Cayden Needham led the No. 2 seed Hawks (10-3) with five goals.

Maple Grove 9, Minneapolis South 2 — Ninth-grader Lincoln Scearcy and sophomores Ben Pfeifer and Evan Bartlett all scored a pair of goals in the victory for the No. 3 seed Crimson (10-2).

Up next: Brainerd battles Rochester and Dakota United faces Maple Grove in the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8. Consolation semifinal games at 9 a.m. pair South Suburban against Anoka-Hennepin and Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka versus Minneapolis South. The consolation final is at 12:15 p.m., followed by the third-place game at 2:15 p.m. and the championship game at 2:30 p.m.
