Most Valuable Teammate

Lauren has been on the varsity dance team since her seventh-grade year. Her experience makes her a role model for younger teammates. She always offers help and encouragement to other dancers while continuing to push herself to be better each day. Lauren's ambition, positive attitude and leadership have been instrumental in the success of the team and will inspire her younger teammates for years to come.

Ryan participates in football, wrestling and baseball and also is a member of student council and National Honor Society. Additionally, he is a small business entrepreneur, operating a rental and laser engraving business. Ryan is an outstanding student-athlete and a leader by example. The way he pushes others to reach their best is special to watch. He is a true representation of what it means to be a Minneota Viking. 

Grace epitomizes the characteristics of a Most Valuable Teammate. Despite being injured during her senior season, she has channeled her passion into her captain’s role on the bench. Even with an injury, she remains a leader during the offseason as well as the fall season. She always has a smile and positive attitude and her energy is contagious.

Asher works with younger athletes whenever he has the opportunity and is a great role model for the student body and community. He leads with a positive example and tremendous work ethic. Asher always gives his best until the final horn, always encouraging his teammates. Two of his most admirable qualities are his integrity and humility.  

Libby embodies all elements of an outstanding student-athlete: sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, discipline, time management and camaraderie. Not only is she a talented runner, she also has a unique talent for bringing people together and motivating them to work toward a common goal. Libby excels both in and outside of athletics and consistently fosters a supportive environment.

Anna is member of both the JV and varsity volleyball squads. She is always the first to encourage teammates during challenging moments, providing motivation and support both on and off the court. Her positive attitude fosters a sense of camaraderie that makes our team feel more like a family. When presented with a tough decision to play on the JV team, she willingly took the opportunity to better herself and help the team. She embodies the true spirit of teamwork.

Lily has helped build and take her school’s programs to new levels of success. She has done this through talent, but more importantly with great leadership that bonds together teammates of all ages. She is the type of student-athlete that our young students should look to emulate. 

Aliyah plays libero for the Lancers and embraces her role, despite the fact that passers don't receive much recognition. As a team captain, she has a positive influence on all of her teammates by being not only supportive, but she genuinely strives to keep it light on the court by stressing to the team that they need to move on and not focus on mistakes. She is a true Most Valuable Teammate.

Josie is a great teammate who is focused on enhancing the team culture across all levels, from youth camp to varsity. She works hard to improve her skills and she is always asking what she can do for the team. Josie has a great vision for volleyball and is always using this to help her teammates find ways to score or be one step ahead of the opponents. She is a “We Over Me” teammate. 

Gavin and Landon, who are twin brothers, are the ultimate teammates at their school. They are not the biggest, strongest or fastest on the team but they get the job done with hustle. They go hard and give all they have in the spirit of the team. No one runs on the field faster than these two to help an injured teammate on or off.  They truly are Most Valuable Teammates.
