I don’t know how many sports books were available at my little hometown library in Graettinger, Iowa, but I do know that I read every one of them, some of them more than once, and my favorites were about great baseball players.

Day 1 of the Minnesota State High School League's Baseball State Tournament was held on Thursday, June 13 at four venues across Minnesota. With the completion of quarterfinals, semifinal matchups are now set for Friday, June 14.
Stuart Groskreutz, who has covered high school sports for nearly 30 years, recently received the MSHSL’s 2024 Outstanding Media Service Award. The Litchfield native was also honored with a citation award for meritorious service as he was inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame.
