Two seasons ago, the Dassel-Cokato football team finished as the runner-up in Class AAA during the Minnesota State High School League’s State Tournament. An opportunity to climb that final step to secure the program’s first-ever football state crown became a reality following a 21-14 victory over Esko in the Class AAA semifinals on Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Lakeville/Burnsville/Farmington wins Adapted Soccer PI Championship, Dakota United takes second. Park Center defeats Chaska/Chanhassen/Shakopee/Prior for third place. Stillwater Area takes the Consolation title.

The Bulldogs have not won a State football championship in nearly two decades. They now have an opportunity to give that trophy some company following a 21-6 victory over Annandale in the Class AAA semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 20 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Visitation Blazers took championship honors in the team event. Hutchinson's Hanson set two Class A records.
